Day 1: Busan to Namji - Afternoon log

By the afternoon the riders had reached a remote area about 50 km from Busan. There was no convenience or grocery store in sight, but every wall in the village was decorated with brightly colored murals. We shared a delicious lunch of bibimbap catered by a local Korean restaurant, while sitting in a circle in a blistering hot parking lot. But to our delighted surprise, near the restrooms we saw a mother dog with a litter of puppies. Playing with them for half an hour certainly lifted the spirits of our hot riders!

The support team cheered the riders out in stages after lunch, and then rushed head of them to reach the next checkpoint. That afternoon we spent a lot of time waiting on the bike trail near a river. We rested and even sang a bit, and watched the land teaming with nature around us. A snake hunting a frog hopped along our path, two sets of herons flew across the horizon.  I was reminded of the provision of the Lord for all of His creatures: "The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time.  You open Your hand, and satisfy the desires of every living thing."  Psalm 145:15-16 As much as the support team struggled to provide for the bikers on this day, the Lord does not struggle to provide for His children.  He simply opens His hand to us, as we look towards Him for our satisfaction.
